Balance

What you own and what you owe, kept per book and never added into one pot. Each debt shows what is left of it and roughly when it will be gone.

Balance

What you own and what you owe stay apart. An account that is in the red stays an account, and a card’s outstanding stays a debt - Pocketview never nets one off against the other.

What this screen does

A book each
Your own money, anything you share, and a business — side by side, each its own balance sheet, with the household total as the roll-up.
What you own, what you owe
Accounts and assets on one side, debts and cards on the other, and the net position between them.
Debts and payoff dates
A debt states its balance and its end: keep the repayment up and it is paid off around a named month.
Cards
A credit card is two readings — what is spent against what is allowed, and the dated payment that settles it.

Never added into one pot

Your own money, anything you hold with someone else, and a business each keep their own balance sheet. The household total is a roll-up of them, not a blend: a business can be short while the rest of your money is fine, and that is exactly the thing a single merged figure hides from you.

Money in one book cannot pay another book’s bill, so Pocketview never adds them into a single pot.
